S.M. Engineering & Heat Treating is a custom designed ammonia dissociator manufacturer, used in metal processing across a spectrum of industries including jewelry, electronics, automotive, and military to name a few. Our dissociators come equipped with a range of features, such as NFPA approved safety components, high flow limit control, multi-pass retorts, and gas cooling or gas heat exchanging. We offer multi-zone, as well as multi-retort design options. Units are available in sizes ranging from 100 – 6000 cubic foot per hour. Our machines are built with an operating temperature up to 1640 °F, which are electrically heated by nichrome ribbon elements. Equipment features our premium catalyst formulation to start the cracking process. Dissociators can be ordered to accommodate all KW ratings and all voltages.
Due to the importance of moisture content for correct metal processing, we guarantee the dew point of resulting dissociated gas to be minimum -80 °F, with typical dew points closer to -150 °F. Turnaround times for custom built dissociators are 12 – 18 weeks. S.M.
