T-Slot Tile Conveyor and Combination Ammonia Dissociator. Built To Last!

This furnace is an electrically heated conveyor furnace of S. M. Engineering special design with a patented "Free-Float" ™ muffle and cooling chamber, thus, allowing the whole assembly to "Free-Float"™ with thermal changes. Featuring a 6 inch wide by 2 inch high by 36 inch long heat zone with atmosphere muffled T-Slot tile Conveyor and combination Ammonia Dissociator the unit has a maximum operating temperature of 1800 degrees Fahrenheit with a recommended temperature of 1750 degrees Fahrenheit.

Built for heavy service with a 1/4 inch thick Nickel Alloy 330 rectangular cross sectional configuration it provides a working space of 6 inches wide by 2 inches high minimum. The work rides on the hearth. The muffle is of all Tig welded design and extends through the furnace entrance throat and is hermetically welded to the purging chamber. It is also extended through the furnace exit throat and is hermetically sealed to the cooling chamber by Tig welding.

S. M.'s FREE-FLOATING™ Muffle distortion from thermal shock is allows distortion from expansion and contraction of the muffle to be almost eliminated. The S. M. feature of mounting the cooling tank on grooved rollers, allows the whole assembly to "Free-Float"™ with thermal changes.

OUR GUARANTEE
S.M. Engineering furnaces are guaranteed for 1 year against any defective materials manufactured by S. M. Engineering and to be made as specified. Our quality is second to none!

The heating elements are constructed of ribbon design of Hoskins 80-20 material rated for use in furnaces up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. They are completely supported in mullite refractory form tile for extended life. The elements are of special S. M. design to operate on a very low watt density- 10 watts/square inch of ribbon. The elements may be replaced when necessary without disturbing the furnace insulation or muffle.

There is (4) T-Slot tiles, (1) unit on top and (l) unit on bottom and (l) on each side to make up a (36) inch long heating chamber uniformly heated on top, bottom, and both sides. The entrance and exit throats are 6 inches long.

There is one (l) Honeywell UDC 3000 series microprocessor control calibrated for type (K) Thermocouples. These offer state-of-the-art microcomputer design, 4 digit seven sequent digital display of process temperature set. Deviation indicator, field selectable display in degrees Fahrenheit. Adjustable proportion band and cycle rate for precise temperature controls. There is one (1) flow meter calibrated for dissociated ammonia.

The single zone 200 CF/H Ammonia Ammonia Dissociator with -80 degrees below zero dew point producing a gaseous atmosphere having a nitrogen content of 25% and a hydrogen content of 75% with a maximum residual ammonia content not in excess of 190 parts per million when operating at an output of 2 - 3 P.S.I.G. when using metallurgical grade anhydrous ammonia (99.9% pure). It operates at 200 S.C.F.H.

All SM Engineering equipment is designed to conform to known existing safety standards required by OSHA and Factory Mutual or Industrial Risk Insurers Insurance Companies for this type of equipment. However, if safety features or devices in addition to those specified herein are required to obtain approval of other federal, state or local agencies, such additional items will be supplied at an appropriate additional cost to the purchaser.
